Congrats to ALL the wrestlers who represented your schools and communities in what truly was an exciting dual! Great wrestling, great sportsmanship, good job!

Thanks to everyone who helped. . .the list is very long!

The small schools avenged last year's loss to the big schools. The "Big School vs. Small School" duals the last two years have not proven that wrestling is better in one or the other. What it has shown is that there is great wrestling at ALL levels of Kansas schools because the duals have been so close. This says a lot about how diverse and widespread the sport is throughout our state. Wrestling in Kansas is strong in big towns and small towns, rural and urban, from West to East, and North to South.

SMALL SCHOOLS 41, BIG SCHOOLS 31

103-Nash Burtin (SS/Eureka) def. Donte Rogers (BS/Wichita NW), 10-2

112-Joey Stephens (BS/Derby) def. Matt Rein (SS/Abilene), WBF 4:19

125-Nick Nothern (BS/Salina South) def. Tanner Dawson (SS/Abilene), 2-1 (2OT)

130-Tristen Deshazer (BS/Wichita West) def. Tait Weatherbee (SS/TMP), WBF 1:39

135-Chase Moses (BS/Goddard) def. Logan Dreiling (SS/Scott City), 6-2

140-Cole Garcia (SS/Colby) def. Brett Hoshaw (BS/Manhattan), 7-5

140-Travis Warner (SS/Smith Center) def. Matt Mahan (BS/Shawnee Mission South), 9-5

145-A.J. Heckel (SS/Ulysses) def. Will Gray (BS/Wichita Heights), WBF 1:09

Some side notes....

==how about Team Norton, 3-0, with some tough matches.

==Special thanks to all three officials, Mark Wallace, Bill Kausler, and Phil Martin. All three donated their payment to the Greg Grater Memorial Fund!

==Special thanks to Chase Moses of Goddard, who literally filled in on the spot...AND bumped up a weight class to do it!

==Special thanks to the Abilene crew for all your work.

==An interesting piece of history pointed out by James Stout of Abilene. The 1975 State tournament was held in the AHS gym, in which the first and second 4-time state champions both competed (Doug Duell of Goodland won his fourth and Roy Oeser of Kapaun won his second). And today's Senior Classic dual had the two most recent (#19 and #20) 4-time state champs competing (Tristen Deshazer of Wichita West and Clay Madden of Norton....and both won). Congrats!

==Congrats to all the State Wrestling Record Breakers for your special acheivement!

==Thanks to all the fans who came to watch, it was a great turnout.

==Good luck to all the Kansas seniors competing at Senior Nationals.

GO KANSAS!

Wow don't know whether we should be proud or what? How did you do against Xavier? I'd like to see that match.

I never got to wrestle Xavier but it would be a good match. If i can last against Dante then i should be able to pull through against Xavier. But then again anything can happen.
