Colby High School is looking for a wrestling team for their Dual Tournament on Dec. 8-9. There are 18 teams involved consisting of three pools of 6. Everyone gets 7 matches. If you are looking for some excellent competition, consider this great tournament.

Pittsburg High School is in need of two teams for their dual tournament. The tournament is January 13, 2007 and starts at 9:00 a.m. There will be six teams, and they will each get five duals. The tournament concludes around 4:30 - 5:00 p.m. Contact Athletic Director Doug Hitchcock at 620-235-3200.

Valley Center High School has an opening for their dual tournament December 2, 2006. Ten teams, five matches, done by 6:00pm. The teams entered are Valley, Carroll, Wichita South, Derby, Junction City, Clay Center, Chanute, Great Bend and Douglas. Northern Colorado Christmas Tournament is looking for teams to come to Greeley, CO December 15th & 16th. This a 64-team tournament with two 32-man pools. Each pool is wrestled out to 7th/8th place. The 1st and 2nd placers from each pool will wrestle for Grand Champion and Consolation Champion. Awards are given to Top 3 Overall Teams plus a small school Champion (under 500 enrollment). Stafford High School is trying to find a third team for a double dual in Stafford on Thursday November 30, 2006. Currently the dual is between Stafford and Hill City. If you are interested, contact Coach Sweet at jsweet@stafford349.com.

Ulysses is looking for a few more teams for it's JV/Varsity tournament on Dec 8-9. The advantage of this tournament is that you can bring every kid in your program if you choose to. It is regular tournament format. The JV and Varsity tournaments are run in consecutuve rounds, and the tournament usually runs very smoothly. Last year, the tournament was done around 6 p.m., which would allow travel without a late night for most schools. Contact Lee Gillen, Activities Director at 620-356-1392 for more information.

The Laker Invitational on Jan.20, 2007 is located at Lake of the Ozarks in SW MO at Camdenton High School.

We have recently decided to expand the Laker Invitational to 12 teams and would like to add 3 "out-of-state" teams from different states.

Abilene and Hays High is looking for a 3rd team to fill a triangular dual meet on November 28th. This years meet will be at Hays High and has been ongoing for 20+ years. Putnam City North High School from Oklahoma City is looking for an out-of-state tournament on January 5/6. My friend, Mitch Brinlee, is the head coach. Any openings?

Holton High School is looking for 1 to 2 teams for the tournament that we hold on Jan. 20. We run 12 man brackets and wrestle out to 6 places. We start with 4 mats and then go to 3 for the rest of the tournament. The tournament starts at 9:30 am and is completed by around 6:30. I believe the SW Classic in Liberal has some openings. There are around 15-18 teams there but they always want more. Teams include two teams from Texas, Colby, Goodland, and KMC to name a few. Always a well run tournament. Also kids who go 0-2 get more matches on the second day. Great for kids needing mat time.Sorry I dont have the contact info in front of me but I'm sure if you contact Liberal High School A.D. or wrestling coach they would be glad to have another team especially one from the tough state of OK.

Any other schools miss their tourney this weekend because of weather or lack of practice? Any openings for teams(a team)in tourneys on Dec. 15th or Feb. 3. ?

Louisburg High School will host a dual tournament the first weekend on January 6th 2007. There are 5 teams currently; Lansing, Tonganoxie, Gardner, St. James Academy and Louisburg.
We need one more for this year but would consider more.
In the future we plan on making this a bracketed or possibly pooled tournament.
LHS has great facilities and the tournament will be a great experience.

Field Kindley H.S. in Coffeyville is looking for a tournament this season either a one day or two day, because of weather cancellation of a scheduled tournament. SMOKY VALLEY HIGH SCHOOL (LINDSBORG): If anybody gets snowed out and needs to add a dual, we would like to add one team to our dual with Larned on 2/1/07. I'm pretty sure Larned is full on points, but most Smoky Valley kids have room for at least one more competition point. We have 22 kids on the team so we could provide a good # of matches for both your varsity and JV.
