Last year Nate was in this weight group, wrestled D 5 and D 6 (HS) and got in 27 or 28 matches. We are taking wrestlers down again for those that are interested. I expect Wizzer practices to start next week or possibly as early as the end of this week. There may be some additional activities for adults going on the trip this year.

Mike, about how many in Division 6 only in those tournaments. Is the level of competition fairly high Do you recall if there was at least 8,10,16, in the 103 and 112 in each of those tournaments. The reason I am asking is that if I take my son I'll be flying in and he can only wrestle Division 6 and I want to make sure that it will be worth the trip to wrestle in 2 tournaments in a short time frame, and at the same time get lots of matches.
Thanks for the info.

We went down last year for both tournaments with Mike & the Wizzers. The Catoosa Tournament was a good little tournament. The gym it was in had great seating. Not a bad seat in the house. The #'s are lower at Catoosa, but good competition at the the lower weights. The heaver weights are smaller numbers. Now at Tulsa, there are lots of wrestlers and competition at all weights. I think everyone of our group had all the wrestling they could handle. My boy at 215lb had full brackets in 2 divisions. He won 1 division & went in to 2 O/T in the finals of the other. I know he was ready to call it a day after that tournament. I know Mike can't predict how many will be there in your son's weight class. But I would think he will have a bunch of matches based off of last year.

I agree with Rob, if anything like last year Iwould expect a minimum of 3 matches at Catoosa and a minimum of 5 at Broken Arrow. Those are minimums and the numbers can be much higher. If you email me I can provide the tournament directors emails and they may be able to give you a better grasp. The good thing about both of those tournaments is that High School teams with their coaches are participating, so the coaches are doing all they can to get their wrestlers out for a strong preseason tournament.
Fall Brawl is also a great tournament with a lot of strong competition at these weights. Last year they had a large number of very good wrestlers at these two weights.
