The 2006 "King of the Mat" pre-season takedown tournament in Emporia, KS will be on November 4th. For information, format and registration go to http://www.usd253.org/~ehswrest/wrestle.htm This is a fun format and last year the wrestlers got plenty of matches.

Sounds like a great tournament, might have to keep the calendar open and road trip if nothing else going on wrestling wise.

Swayz,
Tanner went last year and had a great time. He wrestled kids division and also got two High School matches against Moseley and Tovar. Not a lot of wrestlers, but plenty of work on his feet! The numbers should continue to go up.

Great job by Coach Buckbee, Matt Collins and the Emporia Wrestling Club! The numbers were down this year and my kid still got 4 matches and plenty of work on his feet. I can't say enough about how the takedown format helps the kids get ready for the season ahead. Everything ran smooth, volunteers were great... I encourage everyone to watch out for this tournament in the future.
