Kansas Wrestling Forums General Discussion College Suggestions for Newman University

As a fan I have a couple of suggestions for Newman University:
1) Update your website. Have results, rosters, and more information about your team.
2) Send your results into the paper. I hardly ever saw the results in the paper. I never saw a major headline or story. Work with the media, they can be your friend.

I know that this is Newman's first year, so I don't expect everything to run perfectly. These are just some improvements that I think would help their fan base.

I am glad you brought this up and I totally agree with you. These have been two thorns in my side this year. First, the school has been without a web master almost all year. We now have a new web master that has all of my info to update my site, so hurry up and wait like me. Second, I have sent results to the Eagle. For example, after the nationals, I wanted something special in the paper about my two all-americans (Mark Dugan & JD Johnson). I was told that there was not any room because it was March and basketball season. This really pissed me off. I will keep working to improve things on my end and I need more people to let the paper know that we need more coverage. Thank you for your post.

Stay after the Eagle, Coach Stovall, I'm sure it was just a bad week for them. After all, they had tons of NASCAR news and I'm sure most of the basketball coverage was about KANSAS individuals.

I went through the same thing a few years back when Silvis won a National Championship and Saferite was runner up. We finally got about two lines a month later.

Have you ever wondered why the Eagle writers are not the KWCA Media Persons of the year.

Congrats on a successful first year and hopefully you'll have many more All Americans they can ignore.
