The Tigers finsihed 1/2 a point out of second behind Adams State and qualified eight for nationals. Seven guys in the finals! Delk looked outstanding knocking off the #1 nationally ranked Western wrestler at 149. He could have taken him down twenty times. Delk will win it if he wrestles anything like that again. This may very well be a top three finish at Nationals for the Tigers. They will have a good showing, no doubt. Good Luck Tigers!

I'll take Nebraska-Omaha as the early favorite for my pick in this national tournament! I will then follow up that there might be a toss-up for position between Augustana, Minnesota State-Mankato, Central Oklahoma and Fort Hays for the final four spots in the top five!

I think Coach Denney and UNO are a good bet for Champs, but anything can happen. The qualifiers from Fort Hays are really wrestling well. Bringing home the title would be very tough, but hardware they should. It is really nice to see the college programs in Kansas doing so well. It sounds like the young pups coming through the cadet/junior ranks are shaping up to be a good pool of homegrown talent. I am excited to watch for the results.
