Kansas Wrestling Forums General Discussion College Who is next

I know it has football, but Butler Community College has a heavy amount of Wrestling influence running around that campus and in that county in general. Shawn Silvis and Chris Saferite were DII National finalists for UCO were from Augusta. El Dorado always produces great wrestlers, and just look at half the guys they get to play football. They added soccer (for the women)since I graduated in 2000, so you never know, they might buy into something like women's wrestling training center too, and with Wichita down the road...EASY SELL to local talent.

Let's meet in the afternoon of August 12th. Where?????

I'm not too familiar with Central Christian but it looks to ba good candidate. Does anyone have any thoughts.....

A long time back when i was in the Leavenworth County area there was some talk of St. Mary's there possibly pursuing wrestling on the NAIA level. Since then they have added football, basketball and baseball--there is a great wrestling base in that area--

I tried to send you an e-mail this morning. Did you get it?

Good idea. It could draw interest from the Topeka, Lawrence and Kansas City areas, too.

There were some very preliminary talks about the St.Mary's possibility--at that time i know we were told that we would need to secure a "sponsoring" entity to raise funds. I know just brainstorming at that time, Sprint and the US Army were mentioned.



Mike Macholz of Missouri Valley would be a good contact on starting any NAIA program. I know he has volunteered his assistance in the past to anyone wishing to start a NAIA program

I graduated from Tabor College and while going to school their some of us guy's that wrestled in high school went to the A.D. and tried to get wrestling, he told us that it would interfere with basketball. We tried for 2 years and the same song. I still have some contacts at Tabor if you want I can get in touch with them. The only problem is that I have moved to the Toledo Ohio area. If it's like Saint Mary's Academy (the private school that is non KSHSAA), then they might add it...that non high school was told that they couldn't play any KSHSAA schools because of forfeiting to a team with a girl on the football squad. They are all about the men there! LOL

Ted Witulski grateful for opportunity at USA Wrestling

Dear Friends,

Recently, I was given the opportunity work with the Real Pro Wrestling team on building wrestling coverage for a nationwide television audience. Though I love the work that I am doing at USA Wrestling as the NCEP Manager, the opportunity was too good to pass up. I believe in the vision that RPW has and I wanted to take the shot at being involved in something that I feel all of America’s wrestling community should get behind.

Friday, September 15th is my last day working at USA Wrestling. I will continue to expect the best for the sport of wrestling from the leadership at USA Wrestling and I want to say thank you to so many great people that I have been able to meet through our national organization.

Over the past seven years I have learned so much about the sport of wrestling while working in the national office and my pride in the greatness of the sport of wrestling has only grown as I have met on a personal level the athletes that I still continue to believe are our real wrestling heroes. It has been a tremendous privilege to work for USA Wrestling and I will fondly remember so many great wrestling moments that I experienced as an employee there.

Because much of my work with RPW will involve organizing wrestling in the field I expect our paths will cross as we continue to grow the great sport of wrestling nationwide. I know I don’t want to lose touch with so many of you. I hope you’ll take the time to email me at my new account: ted@realprowrestling.com.

Fortunately, I will continue to live and work in Colorado Springs as Real Pro Wrestling organizes the regional qualifier and super qualifier focused towards the television shows beginning in the spring of 2007

I was informed about Ted Witulski's job change over the weekend by Sean McCarthy. I really do not know what this means concerning his effort to lead the Kansas NCAA Division I advocacy group. I sent him an e-mail on Saturday asking him that question. I will let everyone know what he replies to me as soon as I hear. It will be a disappointment if he is unable to execute the plan that he proposed to us last Fall. Perhaps Ted is still planning to lead the group from his Real Pro Wrestling position. He did do a lot of preliminary work in getting a non for profit entity set up and preliminary work in setting up a website for the group.
