The one that was a shocker was when GCCC just had won a national championship.

Johnson County CC used to have a team also in the late 70s and early 80s. Not sure exactly when they dropped it.

Johnson County CC I think dropped their program after the 1983-84 season.

St. Mary of the Plains - Dodge City, KS After 1 season (89-90) dropped shorlty before the school went under.
Ft. Scott Juco had a program in the 70's as well.
When did KU drop their program?

In a story about Pete Mehringer KU's 1932 Olympic Gold Medal winner, it was stated that KU dropped its program in 1966.

Aaron, I bet you are right that 1965 was the last time KU competed in the Big 12 tournament. Maybe when the article said that KU dropped it's program in 1966 it meant that it stopped competing in 1966. Anyway you look at it that is at least 40 years with no wrestling program at KU. We have to change that.

Richard,
I agree with Aaron that was a very good one!
It is kind of scary to me how ingrained the new Big 12 is ingrained into my thinking now. I used to be such a Big 8 fan. I was not too happy when it became the Big 12. There are times that I wish that it would still go back to the Big 12. I liked it better when Nebraska played Oklahoma every year in football.
Thanks for keeping me on my toes.

Richard,
You got me again. I guess I need to be more careful. But what I meant was I miss the Old Big 8 Conference. I really did prefer the Big 8 to the current Big 12 setup. I really have nothing against the Texas teams except that they keep beating up on my Cornhuskers. I just liked it better when Oklahoma and Oklahoma State got to play all the current Big 12 North teams in football every year. Of course I also liked it better when Nebraska actually had a dominant football team every year.
