112 - Nick Shumate - 5-0

112 - Donny Altman - 4-1

130 - Tristen Deshazer - 5-1

145 - Joe Cornejo - 6-0

160 - Neil Erisman - 6-0

Cornejo has Dragon and English on his side but is not on Metcalf's side. Erisman has Travis Hammons (IL) next! Cozart and Rella are on the other side. If Neil beats Hammons, then Bounds (WA) will be extremely tough to get to the finals.

Matt Dragon (PA-145) is probably the 2nd toughest 145 pounder in Fargo behind Brent Metcalf (MI), who is a complete beast. He is a former Cadet National Champion and took 3rd in FS and GR last year in Fargo Juniors. He is signed to wrestle at Pennsylvania University.

Dave Rella (OH-160) was the #1 ranked Junior in the nation at 152 before moving up to 160 for the summer.

English (IN) was the #1 ranked Junior in the nation at 145.

Bounds (WA) is a former Cadet National Champion and was ranked #10 in the nation. He is looking great this tournament.

Deshazer has a tough road, Next up is Precin from Illinois who beat Josh Baldridge 11-6 at the Junior Duals. (Baldridge had beaten Precin 12-4 earlier in the day). He also has Ness (FL 6-0), Hutchison (AK 6-0) and Slaton (IA 6-0)who beat Tristen 11-0 and is probably better than all of them.

At 145, I would rank them:

1- Metcalf
2- Dragon
3- Reynolds
4- Cornejo

At 160, I have them:

1- Erisman
2- Cozart
3- Rella
4- Bounds

Sorry coach but I wanted to correct you on Metcalf, I think you sold the man a little short!!!

Here is the article from the.mat.com where he was voted athlete of the week. I have seen him wrestle several time and he is a complete dominator!!!!

Brent Metcalf (Davison, Mich.) has been named TheMat.com Wrestler of the Week for the week of July 19-27.

Each week, TheMat.com will select an Athlete of the Week, based upon performance within wrestling for that week. The selection committee will consider any level of wrestling, from youth programs through the Senior level. The announcement will be made each week on Wednesday.

Metcalf won the gold medal at 145 pounds at the ASICS/Vaughan Junior National Greco-Roman Championships, and was named the Outstanding Wrestler in the tournament.

For Metcalf, it was his 5th Junior National title , leaving him just one shy of tying the national record for Junior titles at six, held by Sean Hage of Georgia. Metcalf was a Junior National double champion after his sophomore year in 2003 and after his junior year in 2004.

In the gold medal finals, Metcalf scored a technical fall over Brandon Sitch of Washington, 11-0 in 2:17.

He won nine matches on the title, earning eight technical falls and one decision. The only bout to last the full length was his 8-1 decision in the sixth round over Levi Price of Minnesota.

Metcalf competed for Davison High School in Michigan, winning four state high school titles. He will attend Virginia Tech in the fall.

BigPin22,

Chief wasn't talking about Metcalf's credentials. Those were Dragon's stats. Everybody knows that Metcalf is a beast. That's why he ranked him 1st at 145.

Sorry, I misunderstood the wording of his post. I wasn't trying to insult chief, I just wanted everyone to know what Joe was up against. I wish him the best of luck!

Swayz, Sean went to wrestle at West Virginia and if I remember right he had some problem with a few injuries. One year at Sunkist I worked a match where Sean wrestled Brandon Slay. Good match with Slay winning. That is all I can help you with. Sorry
