We had 28 kids the first night on Tuesday. I have received a few more calls/emails, and some others said they would begin this Thursday or next week.
All of these kids were from Baldwin City, Ottawa, and Lawrence. They were all in grades 1-8. High Schoolers are welcome (Baldwin HS wrestlers are not), we did have a couple HS wrestlers in there last night.
The regular coaches are myself and several high school seniors (Jesse Hardy from Free State, and Josiah Mason and Matthew James from Baldwin - all three have wrestled for Team Kansas in Fargo and have placed at or qualified for state multiple times).
Also, Tom Peterman (District 1 Freestyle director and Head Cadet Coach) has agreed to come in for some practices, and also am planning on talking to other top coaches in the area (Eric Akin, etc.) to come in as well.
