I read in today's (8/30/02) Wichita Eagle that they are thinking about getting rid of some sports in the Olympics and Wrestling was one of them.

Does anyone know any more about this?

An IOC panel has recommended dropping Greco Roman wrestling. I haven't seen anything from USAW thus far, but I'm sure we'll hear something soon. This will not affect the upcoming 2004 summer Games.

In addition to Greco Roman, this same panel recommended dropping baseball, softball and the modern pentathlon. They would add golf and rugby for the 2008 Beijing Games.
