OK. A buddy and I will walk into Derby HS this Saturday to watch our first tourney finals there.
Please give us directions. We are coming from Junction City.
I believe the finals start at 500pm? Do they ALWAYS start at that time even IF the tourney runs fast/ahead? One year I showed up at SS at 300pm and the tourney was OVER! UGH!
I know 125 is the class that all eyes will be on. Any others of note? (not to take nothing away from any finalist - i think you know my point).
Exciting about going. Any details that you 'regulars' can have to make our trip more enjoyable would be appreciated.

I think last year they were running ahead and took a break up till time that was posted for finals. I'll ask one of the coaches and try and post tournament times.

Derby HS 920 N Rock Road, Derby, Kansas 67037
Depends on how you come:
Down 77 through El Dorado/Augusta, you could:
A) take 54/400 over to Andover and go South on Butler Road through Rose Hill and then back West on SW 190th/79th Street South and then turn North on Rock to Derby HS (on you right)
OR
B) take 54/400 over to Rock Road in Wichita and then go South to the school (on your left)
If you take I-70 over the Salina and South on I-135:
Exit K-15 and take it until you turn left (East) on E 71st Street South/Meadowlark to Rock and then turn South on Rock.
But, now that you have the address, you can Map quest it and see it for yourself. Hope this helps...

What do you mean? We walked out of there at 8 and it only take 25 minutes or so to drive from Andover to Towanda...

I say go south on 77 and then take the North El Dorado Turnpike exit...then get off and pay the toll and head into Derby on the Derby exit.

Some great matches in the first rounds. The 125 final will be the final match in the finals on Saturday as they are starting at 130, good move on Derby's part. We will see Caldwell and Bridgeford from Nebraska in the finals. I will assure you, it will be a good one as will a number of the other finals matches. Come on down, get there early, it is going to be fun.

dont remember all but will give what I remember elliot won at 189, kid from rose hill at 215, both kellers won 103 & 112, kid from hieghts at 119, and at 125 caldwell lost to the kid form Burke 8-3. He got caught in a cradle in the first and couldnt catch up. Arnold won at 140, rose hill kid at 145, pburg kid at 152 and beard at 160. Sorry dont have all the scores and names, didnt write any down . By the way Carroll won the tourney goddard took second and Derby took third I think.

The handout said he was a sophmore and his record was 18-1, from what I undrestand he missed state last year because he couldnt make wieght, I think he wrestled at 103 last year and got by furches in the finals of the same tourney.
