Mader did wrestle 160 this weekend. He was beat by Arnberger 10-2 in the first round and then by Sherlock in first round of consulation I think 7-4 was the score.

Hawkins wrestled in the semifinals and lost to Nick Kriss and didn't use any injury time or seem injured and then he wrestled and won in the consolation semifinals (not sure if he was injured there) and then defaulted in the consolation finals. I'm not sure if he was ill or what. I'm pretty sure it is nothing serious.

Hawkins is still 3-1 against Kriss, and should have the seed at regionals.

I think it goes last win. I could be wrong but i think that Kriss will have the seed unless they see eachother again and Hawkins wins.

I think that would be true if they were 2-2 against each other, it would go to the last win. But I'm not sure.

The seed goes to the person who won last regardless of record prior... you could be 100-1 against a kid but if he wins the last meeting he gets the regional seed.
It happened to me my sophomore year I was 4-1 against a kid losing my last match to him, and thus he got the 3 seed, I the 4th.

Sorry, Alex but you are wrong in this case. There are always exceptions to the rule but after sitting at seeding meetings for 16 years the norm is if kids have split then the seed goes to whoever won last. If one wrestler has a winning record against the other (in this case) 4-1, that wrestler will get the seed. As I said, there are no hard-fast rules, but this is what happens 90% of the time.

Coach Steiger is 100% correct. The last thing that needs to be done wrong at a regional is a seed that will keep some kid from getting to the state tournament. Also, record is one of the last things to be considered in a seeding meeting. Hawkins will get the seed over Kriss.
