The Kansas Young Guns, a 13yr old baseball team is looking for a wrestler thats wants to play competitive baseball. The Young Guns were the 12U USSSA AAA State Champions last season. We are based out of Wichita and will play in the Westurban Baseball League and will play tournaments. We will play close to 60 games and this will be a big commitment. If anyone is interested or would like more information you may contact me through email or call me at 620-394-2533.

Wrestlers come in handy when the opposing pitcher is throwing heat high and inside:)

Probably because wrestlers are quick. Excellent reaction time. They make great catchers. They can get to their feet quickly on pass balls, move side to side on balls in the dirt. Get up out of the catcher position to get that bunted ball or foul balls. My son plays catcher. And I also know 5 other kids in our area who wrestle and they also play catcher.

You may have something there. Our son is a lefty catcher - kinda unusual to see, but he can run circles around most of the right handed catchers his age.

Wrestlers have great "core strength" in their hips and legs. This translates well to the catcher position as well as hitting a baseball hard. My son wrestled while we lived in KS and now plays select baseball in Texas. I have seen a huge correlation between the two.

Im a wrestler but my favorite sport is baseball, wrestling makes you better in everything you do. For example im a pitcher and wrestling helps a ton w/ the mental mindset needed to pitch or do anything. My team, the Russell Roughnecks, has played against the Young Gunz three times and each game has been extremely close. I think it would be fun to play for there team, but i have a commitment elsewhere.
