Kansas Wrestling Forums General Discussion Women Oklahoma City University to add Womens program

It looks as though Oklahoma City University is going to add women's wrestling in the near future. It isn't quite official yet, but the fact the school's adminstration is talking about it publicly makes it a virtual certainty.

OCU wrestling coach Archie Randall will be in charge a lot of the logistics in getting the program up and running. Speaking with him several weeks ago, he was pretty excited about the challenge and the potential. There aren't a lot of women's college programs around the country. That fact, along with the growing number of female wrestlers on the high school and club level in Texas and nearby states gives OCU a natural recruiting base.

Way to go,OCU!! They have, or at least had a fantastic music program 20 years ago.

Isn't that a hoot. Who would haved ever thought that Archie Randle would have the first girls team in OK? That is great news and my sources agree that it should be a go. I also heard who is being talked to for the coaching job and it would be a great pick. Guess we will just watch and wait. That would be really convenient for Coach Ed and I to go down for UCO to see some "boys" that I know wrestle and then hop over to OCU and watch some girls too.

Karissa I also see on the web that they are getting that girls team going in OK? Is it true? How exciting. Coach Ed keeps telling the girls that there are two girls from OK that will be coming up for practice later on....is that still true?

Hey Jenni,
Yes Karissa will be at practice, are you having one this Sunday? She might be interested in going to Labette to Dual with you guys.
I think you will be suprised when you see her, she has slimmed up and has been at 86lb this year.
