Just wanted to say Congrats to Smith Center and Beloit

Norton just 1.5 points behind

Just doesn't get much better then that. I enjoyed a great 3-2-1A wrestling tournamnet. Evening getting snowed in was alright because the finals were great.

Sabetha also needs to get a shout out because they wrestled well. 1 State Champ 1- Runner up by a point and 1 3rd place finsihers. Congrats Coach Brown

My Congratulations to Smith Center and Beloit also. Wow what a tourney! I don't ever recall three teams being SO close before.

I'm guessing Smith Center and Norton did since they're in the same league.

I have to say congrats to both teams as well. We had met up with both teams in tourneys as well as a dual with SC. All were battles. They really showed up to win state. Congrats again. It will be crasy again next year!!!

Norton defeated Smith center head to head in a league dual also finished ahead of Smith Center in the MCL Tournament. Also, finished ahead of Beloit, Smith Center and Scott City at the Norton J.R. Durham Invitational (Norton's heavyweight had to win his championship match for Norton to edge out Beloit for first in the Norton Tournament).

Thats the thing- head to head doesn't men much because you have to be a great tournament team to win state. This isn't Dual Championships. Smith Center if I remember right has alot of open weights but the kids they have are very talented. Beloit has a full team I believe or close to it as I am sure Norton does.

What a year in 3-2-1A

Plus it doesn't hurt to have 10 team points "given" to you without even having to step on the mat due to forfeits. If Beloit or Norton would have had that same luxury this topic would not even exist.

Given to them? What is that all about?

I believe this was a "dig" at Smith Center receiving a forfeit win at 103 pounds in the opening round and an injury default win by their 130 pounder in the consolations semis.

Yes, and an unwarranted and unnecessary "dig" at that. If Smith Center had A)gotten a fairly obvious defensive fall call at #103 on Gallaway of Stockton, B)not been rang up on a very, very questionable second stalling call in the finals @ #140, or C)not had one of the Rempe's wrestling with a broken bone in his ankle... we as well would not be having this discussion cause they'd have run away with it.

I'm not saying they got robbed, just saying things tend to even out... and someone sounds like a sore loser.
