Wrestlers,
You received an info form with incorrect times. The correct check-in time is 3 pm. We will have weigh-ins (as needed), gear check-out, USA card purchase, team pictures, then warm-ups and wrestle.

THE CORRECT START TIME IS 6 PM, not 7:30 pm as was listed on your first letter.

Thanks,
Kit Harris, KWCA

Big Schools look mighty powerful in the lower weights

Small schools looking strong in the upper.

Cook of Hays v. James of Clay Center could be a good 215 pairing... 5a was pretty senior heavy this year, so someone is bound to accept.

160 should be no problem for allen of clay center.....if brown would have stayed at wamego, he wouldnt even have won a league title, let alone a state title

I'm a Clay Center fan! But pesonally don't believe that you have seen Brown wrestle this year. I've seen them both and this going to be a battle royal! Brown was very well coached and is ripped!

Agreed. I saw Brown wrestle early in the year and was not that impressed at all (when he was still 171). When I saw him again at the state tourney I said to myself "Where in the hell did this kid come from!?!" He's ripped, he's a fighter, and he's been through some technical schooling. I hope it will be a good match. He definitely worked his way through the 5A state tourney at 160 pretty handily.

If you stay out of the tie up with him you will be fine...Brown pinned a kid from Chapman that was pretty good in 13 seconds with a nasty twister one year.

Maybe, however, I saw his matches at state and he was tough in almost every situation. He's going to be a threat.

I can't predict how close the matches will be but here's who I've got winning.

Goodwin- Big
Canale- Small
Hanson- Big
Migchelbrink- Small
Bahe- Big
Cauthon- Small
Pyle- Small
Hynick- Small
Geinger- Small
Allen- Small (i don't know much about who has to wrestle but I predict Allen only because he beat Judd)

I have no idea about the rest. It looks to me like small schools could pull it out again this year.

Sharky Slyter, Paola, Season Takedowns (274)

Is this for real? If you had 40 matches you would have to average 7 take downs a match! You would think somebody should teach this kid how to ride!

I find it hard to believe as well, but the kid is a machine on his feet. If it were going to be true of anyone, it'd be him I guess.

At regionals that's all he did...take down...cut, take down cut. A lot of colleges will like him on his feet for that reason, but I also know they would probably be like, "take him down, keep him down for about 20 then cut"
