In Dis. 1, the finals for 12U 72# was a great battle between Tommy Williams and Bryce Shoemaker... it was a fun one to watch!

Very tough matches yesterday at Ottawa!! We were there to watch the younger kids and they all put up one heck of a battle! The tourney ran great - my only complaint (sorry) is that I wish they would have enforced the "if you're not wrestling, you need to be in the stands" rule!!!!! I was very impressed with Holton the previous weekend - I know it seems like an inconvenience to not be able to be ON THE MAT when your child is wrestling but I think it makes for a much safer and saner tourney!!! I actually seen a set of parents walk out onto the mat and pick up their son after his match was over - thought that was a little over the top - believe me I know the feeling there are times I feel like doing the same but I manage to control myself. But that said - thanks Ottawa for a pretty well ran tourney.

Ottawa was run very well. The competition was great for 10&U/95 as well. Great job to all of the boys. I would like to thank some of the parents and kids from Ottawa Mat Masters for their help and concern for our son. These parents have really raised outstanding young men and we are proud that our son has them as friends. Thanks again and see you at State!

I would also like to know how the young man is doing who got hurt on mat 5 in Ottawa. We asked the emt after she got back into the building and all that she could tell us is that he was talking and breathing alittle better.

Just have to say Cimarron has a nice gym, but it was way to cramped for a district tournament, and they needed to be a little more organized. The concession stand was ran poorly, and you had to stand in line forever and then was scared your wrestler was going to miss his/her match while standing in line. It was just not a big enough place to hold a district tournament, they should start with just a regular tournament first before leaping into a district tournament.
