Who are the state placers that will be wrestling these weights this year? Are there any freshman or sophomores that will be able to make an impact at these weights in 4A?

They should have at least one decent practice partner in Kyle Detmer.

They should have at least one decent practice partner in Kyle Detmer. Actually around those weights the freshmen will find plenty of competition for spots and practice partners at Carroll next year. I believe all these guys are returning: Mitch Arnold 140 1st at State 2006 Kyle Detmer 145 1st at State 2006 Tanner Cody 160 2nd at State 2006 Tim Chadd 171 State Qualifier 2006 Jacob Cole 189 State Qualifier 2006

BC is going to be very tough next year. My son was on Aquinas' team last year and that is why I have some knowledge about BC's overall strength. I think Carroll has an excellent chance to be a top 15 team nationally next year.
You are probably right that these two incoming quality freshmen will find spots on the BC team. I know from last year's Aquinas team that when a team gets as deep as Carroll's team will be next year that it can be difficult to find a spot for everyone. It becomes very difficult in the weights over 145 because there are just fewer weight classes available. Aquinas had two senior former state qualifiers over 145 who could not find starting spots on last year's team.

My son has not wrestled Kids for a couple of years, but he was on the STA (St. Thomas Aquinas) Kids club.

Husker I think you are right about the upper weight divisions. If you added 166 176 186 that would help the teams and give more kids the opportunity to wrestle varsity and help on not cutting so much weight. the new weights would also help the tweeners compete at proprer weights.
