His 5.1 forty wouldn't hurt him any. That would be fun to see. I'm not sure Nebraska or Oklahoma would use him at that position though.

215 - Brad Terron (Lansing) - RB/LB #46
215 - Tyler Strouhal (Lansing) - OT/DE #71

We should see these names this season.

Zlatnik is the #3 recruit in the state accoring to rivals.com as a DE. He will also play TE on offense, and runs a 4.8 40

I hope Bill Callahan up in Lincoln Nebraska is paying attention to Mr. Zlatnick. Duane could be a Blackshirt and also probably wrestle for the Cornhuskers.

Duane could probably do either but I don't think he could do both. Most college programs start going in October and are getting ready for conference tournaments in late December. It would seem there would be quite a bit of overlap. I don't know of anyone who has pulled it off but I am sure there is someone.

I agree, and the athlete ends up not doing justice to either sport. Any college sport is a year round commitment.

I was shorting him on his forty. That 5.1 was my top speed in high school. It is now my vertical leap!

It has been a long time ago but I remember watching on TV ex-NFL and KC Chiefs star Curly Culp wrestle and win the NCAA heavyweight title. I think he did that as a senior at Arizona State. Sports might be too specialized to accomplish it today. I think Duane has the physical and athletic abilities to do both successfully in college. Callahan might not like him risking injury but I bet it would be better for his football development for him to wrestle at NU than what he would acccomplish in their off-season workouts. Notice that I am making him a Cornhusker as if it is a done deal.

Did Rulon Gardner do both at Nebraska?

Oh my! How could we have missed Mitch Arnold BC - Pound for Pound I think he is one of the tuffest football player's and Wrestler's. They had him listed as (5'5" 170lb?)I saw him last year against Great Bend stop a 6'-215lb. now who plays Division 1 at K-State in his tracks more than once (open field tackles) - Great game Friday Mitch.

Chapman has quite a few wrestlers who will be in the box scores in the Saturday paper. The top three are....

Senior Cody Provance is a running back and defensive end

Junior Noel Richardson - had 99 tackles last year in varsity as a sophomore. Will play both ways this year on offensive line and linebacker. Missed regional wrestling because of mono last year but is a very good wrestler.

Junior Jess Lemon - Running Back, Linebacker. State Qualifier last year at 135 but is now around 165lbs.
