THANK you! If you happen to choose another school system because they do not offer wrestling, or for any other reason, be sure to let both schools know why you chose to have your children attend there. It is important for school administrators to know why parents pick one school district over another, whatever the reason.

ima bump this really quickk...because i looked for results for Nickerson on the results page and found none.
I dont want to move into a district with NO wrestling...
thats like a world without water..
is Lyons and Nickerson the same school???

Exactly! So make those feelings known to the school which does not have wrestling. That is one of the ways we can work towards more schools starting programs. Co-ops are the same as not having a program IMO.

Lyons and Nickerson are not the same school. The Nickerson program attended mostly JV meets the last two years, but Haven has wrestling, as well as Lyons (only a short drive from sterling).

Just wanted to let you know that I am from Lyons and we do have a Middle School and a High School wrestling program a along with a kids club for the Rice Co. area. Sterling is 8 miles from us but they do not have a program at this time. They have talked about it but nothing has been started so far. They started co-oping with Nickerson last year which is about a 15 minute drive from Sterling. Lyons has a really great coach Mark Schottler, if you have any questions about the program I am sure he would love to talk to you.
