Dear Wrestling Community,
The staff here at Neosho County Community College would like to invite All Ages to attend a special 2 hour morning clinic on Saturday, October 20th, 2007 here in Chanute, KS in the wrestling building of the NCCC campus. The clinic will take place from 9:30am-11:30am and will feature guest clinician Jody Marple highlighting the event which just happens to fall the morning of when the fifth class of the Kansas Chapter of the National Wrestling Hall of Fame & Museum will be recognized right here in Chanute, truly making that day a fun filled day of wrestling excitement. The cost for the event will be $15 per wrestler with a maximum limit of 55 participants on a first come basis with doors to the wrestling room opening up at 8:45am.
For those that are curious about the clinician, Coach Marple is the head wrestling coach at Oklahoma 5a powerhouse Midwest City High School and led the Bomber Wrestling team to a 2007 traditional state championship this past year with an impressive 8 wrestlers finishing in the top 4 at the State Championship to include 3 individual champs! In his 2 years at the helm of the MW City program Coach Marple has also led his team to the 2006 Dual State Title in Oklahoma and was awarded the 2006 5a State Coach of the Year in his rookie campaign. In his two years at Midwest City, Coach Marple has coached 4 state champions and 1 All-American.
Coach Marple as a competitor was very successful as well finishing as a state champ in Oklahoma at Altus High School before continuing on at then 12 time National Champion University of Central Oklahoma where he was a 3 time Midwest Regional Champion. Marple also finished 2nd in 1998 and later recovered from injury to finish 3rd in 2000 to finish his competitive career as a a 2 time DII All-American. One of Marple’s most impressive accomplishments is that he ranks 7th all time on UCO’s career win list with 126 wins (the 6 ahead of him combined for 13 individual National championships and an additional 5 runner up finishes!)
Assisting Coach Marple in this clinic besides the staff of NCCC Wrestling, will be Midwest City high school’s top assistant in Floyd Lorne who was a 2-time prep champ in Oklahoma as well as a 3 year member of the University of Oklahoma wrestling team prior to transferring his senior year to Central Oklahoma where he qualified for the NCAA DII Tournament at 149lbs. Coach Lorne also happens to be a former Cadet Freestyle National Champion and is the brother of former NCAA DII Champion Edwin Lorne.
We look forward to seeing everyone here in Chanute on the 20th!
Yours In Wrestling,

There has been a slight change in this week's clinic. Due to a personal matter Coach Marple regrets that he will not be able to make it up this weekend for the clinic, but hopes to make it up in the future for another one, thus in his place we would like to announce that the wrestling staff of Neosho County Community College will be stepping in to fill his shoes, and look forward to working with Coach Marple down the line!
