what is the new standards on background checks for coaches
The background check will be required by USA Wrestling beginning next year. The details are still being worked out by our parent organization.
At this time, to the best of our knowledge, the two items which will prevent a coach from receiving their card are a conviction for child abuse and sexual abuse.
There are a few clubs which have discussed further scrutiny for their coaches, however that will be an individual club decision.
Again, this will be a mandate by USA Wrestling.
