The Leavenworth County Spartans get great support from all of the schools in the Lansing/Leavenworth/Easton area. We have used the high school, middle school and some elementary schools wrestling rooms and gyms. We are very fortunate and appreciate the support we get. Leavenworth high school, Lansing high school and Xavier elementary school really help us out with the use of their schools and wrestling mats.
We have a great relationship with the high school coaches. As a club coach we coordinate with the high school coaches to ensure we are teaching the technique they want for the kids when they get to high school. The Lansing, Leavenworth, and Pleasant Ridge coaches do a great job at providing us feedback and encouraging their kids to wrestle kids club and to work with our club in the off season.
The bottomline is that there is not a formal relationship between the club and the schools because you start getting into splitting hairs on the different rules. However, we have a very close relationship when it comes to teaching common technique, using facilities, etc.
We at the Spartans are very grateful for the support we receive from the schools and the respective coaches.
