I would agree totally.
I would also bring ear plugs.
It gets loud and if you aren't making the noise others will be.

oh...I remember going to my very first wrestling match to watch my son for the first time when he was only 6. I grew up in a 1A school and had NEVER been to a wrestling meet before. I was shocked, absolutely shocked at the noise level. Now, it's like I don't even notice the noise or the people screaming anymore.

It's all true!
A friend of mine once told me to remember that there is a BIG difference between being hurt and being injured and that the Coach will let you know. That was some of the best advice I ever received.

AMEN. There is nothing like being told by your 5 year old to sit unless HE sends for you. My favorite is the quote about the blue face and not being able to breathe. In my case it was a 7 year old activity induced asthmatic in an illegal hold. Of course the inhaler isn't matside because you aren't supposed to be there, you have been banned by him. Try getting him to use his inhaler, focus on his breathing all the while he is puking in a bucket matside. The whole time the coach is sitting there calmly telling him what to do and then watching him go back out on the mat, talk about having to have nerves of steel. Good luck to the newbies..I've become immune!!!
