Whats this regional shaping up to be? I heard 119 is really tough this year with Derrick Weller-Piper, Jared Ribelin-Royal Valley, Tyler Anderson-Clay Center ranked 1,2,3 in 4a. What other weights are tough, and whos going to go on to state?
i know the matchups at 145 between orel(BW) and langston (JW) and 152 between quisenberry(BW) and lee (JW) have been battles this year. Those guys really dont like each other and that leads to some intense wrestling. Watch out if they meet again in regionals.
Lee is the better wrestler at this stage. last week in the big seven league tournament at Jeff West we watched Lee wrestle Meyers from Sabetha and Lee should have beat Meyers if he had got the call from the reff, that all the people that watched though he got a bad call. On the other hand Mumaw got Carlson in a good match and it got real rought but Carlson beat him and Mumaw mush have got hurt because he did not finish the tournament.
no doubt about it. crossfaces will be plentiful. as far as which wrestler jeff west will use, i know lee and quisenberry have matches going back even last year that were intense, but mumow beat quisenberry last time they wrestled. I think it will be lee but either way they are both tremendous wrestlers. I think they could both be state qualifiers if they didnt go to the same school at the same weight.
There are two pretty good Tonganoxie kids at 160 (Maus)and 189 (Kaigin) that should place somewhere in the top 4 and Adcox at 140 is very dangerous and could very well win it.
i agree with the weller observation. someone correct me if i am wrong, but hasnt the only person weller lost to all year sharky slyter. Now that I think about it he might be the only person he has lost to in his whole career if i am not mistaken. How do you not pick him to win.
