My son has wrestled in both weights this year. Had success in both. I have seen a few good kids like Hartley from Haysville, Newton from Gray county, Young from Lincoln that won the Salina tournament but havent seen him in but a few others. The Klautt i think is how you spell it from Kc. Smith from Maize and Miller from Buhler. Any other good kids out there in those 2 weight classes.

My son is Newton from Gray County. We have wrestled 8U all year with the exception of Salina. Not sure if we will go 61 or 64 yet at Ottawa he has hit a little growth spurt and is creeping up on 61 and I am not sure we want to have to make 61 2 days in a row with Subs the day Prior. Have not watched the 6U much since we have been wrestling mostly 8U so I too am curious to who is out there at 61 or 64.

dont know much about 64 but 61 will have a few kids that are pretty darn good. my son wrestled your son at the take down tournament in chapparal and you son won pretty easily. hope to maybe see them wrestle again but my son will be at 58 the rest of the year due to him weighing in at 56 and 57 every week. we put him at 61 in maize and mulvane just to wrestle some different kids. good luck to your son. would be a good match to watch him and hartley from haysville. both strong kids.

Thank you for the kind words. We started out the year weighing 58.5 at weigh ins but now are weighing about 60.5 the last 2 tournaments. We will stay at 61 for subs but not sure yet where we will enter for Ottawa just waiting to see how close this growth spurt takes us the next couple of weeks. Wherever we end up I sure we will wrestle some quality kids which is what it is all about. Good luck to your son and all others competing in Ottawa and or Topeka.

Trenton Shafer- Coffeyville-58lbs
Christian Braun- Burlington-61 lbs
Cade Addis-Cherryvale-64lbs
Jontae Fields-Parsons-55lbs

It seems that I see these wrestlers dominate every week. I sure will be watching these lil' guys and see how they hold up to the rest of the state. Good luck boys-

Cade Lautt, one that was mentioned above, has wrestled at 58 all year, but you know how that can change with these growing kids. All the kids above are good as well as others. Good Luck to all!

Is anyone going to be in Mulvane? My son is in this weight class 61 and as far as I know his tough competion will be Smith-Maize and Miller-Buhler. This will be our last tournament at 61, we will move up to 64.

I think Hartley from Haysville will be at Mulvane wrestling 61 and my son Brady Bockover will be wrestling 61 as well. If all those kids are there should be a very interesting tournament. Other kids I have seen down south east is that Fields kid. My son beat him for his first loss in the Woods classic but that was when my son was at 55. That kid is strong and aggressive. Cant see that he has lost since then either. As for am I from sek. Yes I grew up in Chanute and my parents do own the Southside Tavern there. I used to spend some time in there. Hope that answers your question. I know you know me but who are you.

My son is Hayden Miller-Rice Co and he's wrestling 61. He hasn't faced all of the kids mentioned here but he's only been beat by Smith-Maize. has beat Miller-Buhler a few times. If his heads in the game, he's pretty tough but reaching burnout. we'll be in ellsworth instead of mulvane. i'll be curious to see the mulvane results.

55 is a good class also. you have fields, spexarth, fisher from garden plain and maybe schroeder from haysville leading that bunch.

I agree the tournaments that I have seen Hayden wrestle he is looking good. I havent really kept up with the 6U brackets that much because I have been giving Dylan his choice and he has wanted to wrestle up to 8U because he really has his sights set on qualiying for state this year. Hayden is much improved from where he was last year. Tell him to keep up the hard work and good luck the rest of the year.

well here are the kids in the 61 bracket. bockover will wrestle the winner of smith and miller. then you have fisher from garden plain vs. robinson ark city, Hartley vs. hope of goddard. pretty well rounded bracket. any one of those kids could end up having a pretty good day. I will be hoping that the bockover kid can wrestle hard and not throw that darn headlock. good luck to the rest of you.
