Congratulations to Smith Center on winning the team championship in wrestling again!
I know it's late and I am getting a bit frazzled (I've hit my refresh button 3,517 times in the past three hours). But it seems pretty rare to me for one school to double in football and wrestling in back to back years!!
Is this a rarity or do I need a nap??

May not be as impressive as two teams winning it all back-to-back, but it is impressive too that Ryan Patterson, Garden Plain Sr., was a part of the State Football Champs and then turned around and went undefeated in winning the 189 3A State Championship in Wrestling!

Even more impressive is that Romero Cotton won four state football titles and four individual wrestling titles.
If football players had guns and landmines were in the endzone then there wouldn't have been Vietnam

So far Colt Rogers is undefeated and a 2 time state champ. Smith Center Wrestling team has 2 state titles. Redman football hasn't lost a game since Colt was in grade school and have currently 4 straight state titles.
Can Colt and the Redmen not lose a match or game for the next 2 years? Time will tell. That is impressive.

The accomplishments of Ryan and Romero are fantastic!
Wrestling coaches talk often of the impact wrestling can have on football. Ryan, Romero, Colt are great examples of that but the question was about team State Champs doubling in back-to-back years!
I am thinking perhaps the Kaupan years there might have been this accomplished!
