Kansas Wrestling Forums General Discussion High School Grand State

Congrats to all the High School athletes who competed at this years State Tournaments. I have seen the All Class Rankings which make me speculate how these brackets would wrestle out.

I would like to hear opinions on a Grand State from wrestlers, coaches, fans and the like. I have presented a proposal to the Executive Council for a Grand State and would appreciate all feedback!

Please weigh in on the proposal of a tournament and not who you think would beat who.

why doesnt someone just run a tournament that would include all the state placers. or is it in the regulations that cant happen.

If not recognized by KSHSAA and supported financially there would be all sorts of factors that would make it not happen. 1) everyone knows KSHSAA guidelines and how they impede progress as far as limiting what the Kansas wrestler can do 2) Not all families would attend after 2 prior weeks of travel/finances.
3) risk of injury which could affect one's collegiate career.
4)many are ready for season to be over 5) demographics/facilities/cost involvement etc.

Don't get me wrong, I'd love to see it happen but doubt it ever will come to fruition in today's existence of KSHSAA guidelines.
