After a long battle with Carnival cruise line we have won! On last years Wrestling @ Sea cruise & clinic the clinic was held in a large meeting/conference room. This year we requested that we roll out the mats on the basketball court up on deck. When we asked Pat (Smith, our wrestling clinic technician) his opinion he answered "Wow, that will be so cool to be up on deck on the mats outside in the open sea air and the pictures we can take of the clinic and the view over the ocean. I love it!" It's been approved and this years clinic will be on wrestling mats on the basketball court. We've had great response so far and we're excited! The cruise is July 7-12 from Galveston, TX. Click on the Camps/Clinics under the USA Wrestling logo at this site for more info. NOTE: Prices will increase $100 per cabin after March 20, 2008. After May 5 Carnival will recall any space we do not have sold and they will raise prices to the current rates. Last year that rate was nearly double our price and did not include the clinic. For best rates, all you need to do is put down a deposit to hold a cabin and that deposit is 100% refundable up until May 5, 2008. Thanks to everyone.

Lol, these ships are so huge they don't even worry about the basketballs going overbaord. So, I think the wrestlers, coaches, and parents should all be safe.
We might get some sun and feel the warm ocean breeze though while we learn! (A singlet tan would be different...)

The clinic is great for wrestlers of all ages! We had kids of all ages last year-- from six and under newbies to high school varsity wrestlers.

Pat Smith and Shane Roller partnered them up according to weight, age and experience. Unlike the larger clinics, Pat and Shane have the time and will jump in and partner with all the kids in order to make sure the wrestlers get the moves down! The clinic is taught by Pat & Shane and they do the work!!
