Our own CJ Napier competed in an intense bracket this weekend at the FILA Nationals. Wrestling at 132.25, he drew Kelly Kubec in the first round and beat him in straight periods. Kubec ended up beating Mac Bailey for 3rd place. In his second match he wrestled finalist David Marble 0-1, 1-0 before falling in the deciding period. One match before placing, CJ had a great opportunity to beat Mac Bailey going 0-1, 2-1 before an 0-3 final period. Along the way CJ beat highly touted Tyler Steinwand and David Silverberg from Minnesota. A heroic effort in a stacked bracket!
