Yeah, based on current postings, I would give Wagner the nod to take the top of the podium. Waiting to see who else is coming out at 135 before making final predictions.

I will give my nod to Lund, he wrestled varsity for Clay Center and placed in the top 4 in a few tough tournaments.

1998: Wagner Champ in his bracket, Lund DNP
1999: Wagner Champ in his bracket, Lund 6th
2000: Wagner 3rd, Lund DNP
2001: Wagner Champ, Lund DNP
2002: Neither one placed, first year 14 yo's

You do the math...grin. Of course I have seen someone have minimal success in Kids, and then blossom in H.S....we'll just have to wait and see.

Andrew Wagner did not participate in Kid's Wrestling
last year (2002). That's the easiest way to not
place at State.

Middle School wrestling starts at the beginning of October for us.

He thought the season was way too long after doing both Middle School wrestling and Kids as a 7th grader (it turned into a 7+ month season).

So, he decided to sit out Kids as an 8th grader and get a little longer break before wrestling in High School. I think he made the right decision. He really enjoyed the High School wrestling this year.
So did Dad
