It was announced yesterday at the Bobcat before the semifinal that Boaz Beard is going to Iowa State University next year. I also saw this information on the Iowa State wrestling site. I do not believe I have seen it posted before on the Kansas wrestling forum. Congratulations to Boaz and his family in committing to one of the best wrestling programs in the nation.

Awesome.
Boaz vs. Coach Sanderson. This is one time I will have to think that Boas's opponent will have the upper hand! Ha.
Good for Boaz. Very cool.
That young man is jumping into a very, very big pond! ;-)

I had never watched Boaz wrestle in high school. I was really looking forward to watching him this weekend. He sure did not disappoint. He was very good in kids but he has really stepped up his game in high school. He is very athletic and dominating on the mat. Now I am looking forward to watching him in the next several years as part of the Big 12 Cyclones lineup. You know he will only get better under Sanderson and I think he will have Jake Varner in the room with him for his first year and that will help Boaz too. I wish Boaz the best of luck in his wrestling career at Iowa State.
