Kansas Wrestling Forums General Discussion Kids Folkstyle State Format Poll - Please post your vote.

I am just curious as to what the vast majority think about the format(order) in which the state tourney should go this weekend.

Option A: Wrestle 2 front side matches and then 1 back side match as it had been done before last year.

Option B: Wrestle 3 front side matches as it was done last year.

No lengthy responses just a simple response like the one that follows. Please identify yourself.

I did attend the State body meeting but did not get a voting card due to the fact that ours is a new club and didnt get to vote on any matters brought to the floor.

I doubt this will have any bearing, just would like to know what majority thinks. jb

I would like option A the second day is alot of wrestling going out the back. Last year my son went out the back and took third but he was woreout.

option B cuz the finalist r gonna wanna break....if they have a tough semifinal match and then 3hrs later have an even tougher finals match they r gonna b tired......just my oppinion

Jeff, I apologize for a response instead of a vote here. I have already voted above. I believe though that Coach Knox's above comment to his post could leave the wrong impression. I believe your post on the listed Topic:"2nd Round On Friday", which you posted today 3/27/02 6:56 AM and other posts on that same topic explain well why this is not exactly how other top caliber tournaments are set up. Most other top caliber tournaments do not have the winners wrestle their first 3 matches before the first round losers wrestle their second.

Coach Knox, if you read this post is the main reason you like this new format because the semi-finals are wrestled on the first day (we also like that, if possible)or do you also like the fact that the winners get to wrestle three matches before the first round losers get to wrestle their second match?

I believe they shoul do it as they do in highschool. After they wrestle the first two winners rounds they should take a mat and designate it as the back side round mat. Then take another mat and have it be the semi finals mat. So i am both A&B

option - A. INDY WRESTLING CLUB

Sorry Jeff, but I have to go with option B. We should be rewarding the kids that win at this level of competition. Once they reach state, the watered down, let's make everybody feel good, Up with People, Walton Mountain at Christmas time, dilute the competition babble should be over.

they should run 2 front door rounds & 2 back door rounds on the first day. that would let the crowd see the semis run in the morning of the 2nd day. how fun would that be to watch those kids go crazy by winning those matches.
