It's reality. Seven or eight years ago a kid got beat by a girl. A very, very good girl, but a girl. I put him up against her. I shouldn't have. He hasn't wrestled since that year. He developed into a very good athlete, but at that point, he wasn't yet. I absolutely hated that. I truly beileve he would have been a state placer. It's easy to stand on principle when it doesn't affect you. You can stand on your soap box all you want, but I could not disagree with you more. It is a coaches responsibility to take care of his own wrestlers first. I did not do that. I will never forgive myself. He simply would not wrestle her, he asked me not to, and I did it anyway. It is MY fault that he never reached his potential as a wrestler. I will never forget the look in his eyes when he walked off of the mat. Discrimination! Give me a break!!!!
