Andrew Egan, Blake Cusick, Jacob Bonham, Dalton Goans, Bryce Bacon, Logan Duncan, Michael Marsh. These are just a few that I can remember. There is not that many of them participating in this weight division. A few of these may be at 68lbs as we normally have to wrestle in a combined bracket.

Madison Roney won the USJOC at this age and weight! Two tough kids at this weight that should not go unnoticed are Bradin Dipman of Derby and Bryce Garcia of Brawlers!

we have never seen Howard Smith either he is entered in as a C wrestler with East Kansas. Khamin Crow, Tucker Schriner and Skylar Johnson are all tough kids also. This whole weight class will be a good one to watch.

Howard is the kid to beat. as the others go i would rank them like this.
1-dipman (6TH at liberty)
2-garcia,duncan, or cusick
3-crow,schriner, or egan
4-johnson, or goans

That would be the top ten in my eyes, Dipman and Duncan have met twice in the finals. very close at Salina. i thank duncan was winning at first. any one of these kids could win at any time. they all better get thier game face on.

Bonham beat Goans this year but could go either way pretty evenly matched. All of these boys are great kids and we wish the best to each of them. Good luck

Howard Smith from East Kansas is the same kid who won JOC and came from Kenny Monday's club. He moved to Kansas a few weeks ago. He has a legit Kansas address. And purchased a USAW card in Kansas (even though he all ready had one in Texas).

Just wanted to make sure no speculations and rumors get started. See you at state.

Thanks

Eric

According to the Kansas Kids Wrestling Rules attached below it would appear he should have proof of enrollment in a Kansas school which would provide verification of his Kansas residency:

For the purpose of eligibility of entering a Sub-District or District tournament, a competitive member must be a resident of Kansas and/or be enrolled in a Kansas educational school system. Special cases to this rule are subject to notification and permission from the Executive Council. The State Tournament Director will be notified of any person permitted to wrestle under this provision.

I would expect that due to the suspicions it shouldn't be a problem providing this information.

How would he know what a C wrestler is compared to what Texas wrestler is.Sounds like somebody is just trying to get a free ride to placing.Average in Kansas might be below average in Texas or vice versa just wrestle and stop trying to get the easy way to State.Wrestle and prove it on thr Mat.

Come on, they aren't inexperienced wrestlers we all no what a "C" wrestler is especially knowing that he is a national champion which would be the same in any state. We are ready to prove it on the mat but first I would expect that he prove his residency with a copy of his Kansas school enrollment. It's not about a free ride, it's about being honest and not taking something away from a Kansas wrestler.

it's common sense, but parents mess up the ratings every year. earlier this year a parent/coach came up to me and was complaining that his son was seeded below one of our wrestlers. he said you know that he hasn't beat my son in over two years, i replied " i know, and i know that both have been state champions in the past, your boy was entered as a "C" wrestler. if you don't rate him right, don't expect someone else to seed him right" coaches who know better should make the changes at the seeding meetings, past that it's all about wrestling.

I think this kid was the only 1 in his bracket for subs. His rating doesn't even matter from here on out he is the 1 seed from the south.

The ranking is not the important issue here, it is whether or not he is a legitimate Kansas resident. Out of fairness to the other wrestlers, I would hope that we can get to the bottom of this.
