I'm interested to hear your comments about the new time schedule and State Tourn. format. Please go to the High School coaches Forum section to make your comments. As your 3-A rep. I would like to hear the good and bad comments about how to make the State Tourn. better.

I will take it to the KWCA Ex. Board meeting on March 8th.

I liked the time schedule, but I think it was a travesty that "Eye of the Tiger" was not played when the finalists entered the arena. The kids dream of walking out to eye of the tiger while the fans clap along, not an eminem song with the words taken out and the fans looking at each other in confusion.

Congrats to all of the wrestlers who battled it out this weekend. It was an awesome tournament to be a part of.

Eye of the Tiger is good, but to me the very best song is Red Rider's Lunatic Fringe from the movie Vision Quest. Surely anyone in wrestling has seen this movie, if you haven't you need to, and this song is played as Louden Swain takes the mat against defending state champ Brian Shute. I'd like to see them play Lunatic Fringe before the Finals. But that's just me.

I would like to see a random draw for the starting weight. Also it would help now that the time is earlier if the medals were given out after the completion of all the wrestling. It was sad to see it almost empty by the time 2 undefeated wrestlers took the mat in the 215 class and by the time the HWTs were done it was very empty and quiet.

Random draw should become standard at all tournaments/duals in my opinion. Beloit did it for their Invite and their Regional this year. It was nice to see the big boys wrestle in front of people.

Also, Eye of the Tiger needs to come back.

I liked the new time schedule. It got rid of the long wait on Saturday afternoon and gave some schools the chance of getting home earlier. The tournament seemed disjointed and did not run as smoothly as in the past. The passgate on Friday morning was a mess. I had to wait over 45 minutes to get in. They only had one table with one person looking up names. The Bring Back Survivor thread explains a lot of the mess. There was a new tourament director.
