When is the latest a wrestler can change weight classes? If a wrestler weighs in at subs 2 pounds heavy what then? Does he get a second weigh in or can he move up a weight? or, for a lack of a better term, is he S.O.L.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Each district MAY have different rules however generally a weight change MAY be allowed prior to the start of seeding at the seeding meeting for sub-districts.

If a wrestler fails to make weight at the sub-district, district, or state tournament their participation in the state championship series is over.

So your saying he only gets to weigh in once? or can he weigh in as many times as needed until weigh ins are over? I hate to think he only gets 1 chance and he comes up a half pound heavy.

I know, that our subdistrict coming up, the kids were put into a weight class last week. The seeding meeting is this weekend. After the seeding meeting, there are no changes as far as I know. The kids can weigh in at Subs the night before and also the morning of the tourney. If the fail to make weight, they are out. If the can't make it Friday night, they can try again on Saturday morning, allowing them lose a couple pounds if they need to.

Then, the kids will have to make weight each week after at the District Championships, State Championships. If they miss any week, they are done. Correct me if I'm wrong anybody...

They can try to make weight until time is up. If they miss the first time, they can do all the last minute weight losing rituals that have been around since the beginning of time (wrestling time). Spit, poop, pee, run with lots of extra articles of clothing on, cut their toe nails, shave their head, etc. Although I cut plenty of weight in high school (back in the day - see Vision Quest), I have never asked my son to cut more than 1 1/2 pounds at the end of the year. Since he has always been very lean, losing even a pound is difficult.
