I assume these are two different events on 2 different nights, both in Topeka, at different locations/facilities.

If both are for graduating seniors only, why two back to back events. It would seem in all likelyhood that many of the same kids will be wrestling both events. The Senior Classic on the 27 may draw some wrestlers from further west. The East Kansas Senior Classic will have many kids wrestling the same kids they have wrestled for four HS years (duals, tournaments, regionals and State), plus a lot of kids wrestling.

Why not combine the two Classics events into one inclusive event. If organizers, coordinators, sponsors, etc can put two individual events on, together it would seem theu could organize, coordinate, sponsor, etc one larger, more inclusive event. One post season event would give the wrestling community the wrestling event they seem to want. What I would request is to not conflict it with the KC METRO Classic--a 2 state very popular event.

The KWCA Senior Classic draws athletes from a state wide pool and has "big school vs small school" flavor. The USAWA East Kansas Classic only draws competitors from the confines of District 1 boundaries. Athetes are eligible to compete in both events...but our rosters will be very different. I hope this answers your questions. Call me if you want to discuss.

Still begs an answer to why have 2 different venues--why not the organizers get together and for a little more effort put together a bigger, more inclusive event. Two events are inefficient.

I for one am really glad to see multiple opportunities for kids to get out and wrestle. More the merrier! It doesn't interfere with anything we do in the Metro Classic in any way. I am really glad to see all of these events and I think they are very popular with almost everyone. Sometimes I think there is nothing that someone out there won't find something wrong with. When I first started coaching there was absolutely nothing for these kids to showcase their talents in. Now that we have some great events someone or many someones seem to find it a recreational sport to be critical of them. I am all for them and for all of you that work on them and run them. Critisizing is the easiest of all activities. Thanks to everyone working on all of these great events. Power to you.

Can anyone clarify this...I heard that there is a rumor going around that there is not going to be 112 or HWT at the Senior Classic? If so what is the reasoning?

Why criticize the KWCA volunteers and the USAW District I volunteers for their efforts in providing opportunities for our young athletes?

The intent is to provide MORE opportunities, not less.

The only question which begs an answer is what activities are you undertaking to provide opportunities for young athletes?
