Kansas Wrestling Forums General Discussion High School 3rd Annual Summer Wrestling League

Unlimited Fitness is teaming up with Tonganoxie High School to offer the 3rd annual summer wrestling league. The details of our wrestling league is listed below:
Dates- Thursdays June 4th-25th (Incoming Freshman to Seniors to be)
Times: Matches begin at 6:00 P.M.
Costs: $29.00
Teams: 5 wrestlers to a team. Also if you only have yourself individually you then will be put on a team with other individuals.
Competition- We will match wrestlers up on ability and within 10 pounds for weight. Not all the time will they exist sometimes we have to put kids in other spots to get them mat time depending on how many that size.
Points: Team points will be scored and forfeits will be scored for the other teams.
Subs: Each team can sub someone in, but need to contact us no later than Tuesday evenings.
Awards- Winning team will get championship t-shirts
Entries- Due May 22nd.

*Last year there where some great matches as well as the numbers grew we had 70-85. Hopefully this year we can get even more. A great way to get 15-20 matches at a minimal cost. The more kids the better the league gets. Hope to see you all this summer!!

I highly recommend this League especially for the Kansas City Area. It's a great opportunity to get a lot of good wrestling in at a very cheap price. Coach Goebel and Tonganoxie do a great job and put in a lot of hard work to make this happen. They make no money, they just do it for the kids. It would be great to see even more athletes this year. I hope everyone around the area takes advantage of this opportunity. Thanks

I absolutely agree with Zach. We had some of our kids from Leavenworth and Lansing area do this the past couple of years and they all enjoyed it. What a great way to get some good quality matches in and have some fun!

It is getting close to the deadline the 22nd of May and so far have not received any participant forms. Please get them in as quickly as possible and also help spreading the word for a great opportunity to get matches in.

I am thinking everyone is just waiting to the end to sign up. This has been a great deal for the past couple years and getting better. Last year had teams from Lansing, Basehor, Wellsville, Olathe, and several more I can't think of off the top of my head, that I am sure Jeremy can. I know Lansing is signing up a group.

Who won it last year? I know Piper will have some guys there. We want the champ t-shirt this year!

Last week entries are due the 22nd Keep them coming I know that last minute we receive the majority of them.

So was there a good number of teams signed up?

Have had some forms come in but there are more coming in with people emailing so this week on Thurday or Friday I will know for sure numbers. So if anyone is still interested please fill out your forms and send them to unlimited fitness.

As of today we have 42 registered. So the numbers keep coming in which is great I think it is very comparable to last year and there is still time to register.

I really wish I had a team coming this year coach. You guys did a great job last year and the competition was strong. I would recommend this summer mat time to everybody!

It was a great first night we had many matches and the kids where eager to get on the mats and some great matches. Thanks to all wrestlers taking the extra time to get some matches in. The team scores after week #1
