Turner kid's travel to Altus, Oklahoma to begin the serie's for the second year. Kid's did great. Mason Turner wrestled 10u 61 and took 1st, he also wrestled 12u 64 and lost to Triston Cortez in the finals in Ultimate overtime 10-9, which they wrestled 4 overtime's and he took 2nd. Alot of people said it was the best match they had seen all day. Jaymez wrestled 12u 110 got to the semifinals before he lost and ended up finishing fourth going 4-2. Brittany wrestled 15u 118 and got to semifinals before suffering a neck injury and came back to wrestle for 3rd and 4th, I was very proud of her for not wanting to quit and she took 4th and a record of 4-2. Saw quite a few Kansas kid's there and talked to couple Ark City coaches, their kid's seemed to be doing well. Overall the Oklahoma series tourney's are a great way to start the season, and the kid's loved their award's. First place got a trophy , medal , T shirt and bracket. If your looking for some early comptetion and mat time Oklahoma is the way to go. I give prop's to all the Kansas kid's and coaches and parent's
who made the trip. Next week is Lawton.

Mulvane also had a few kids go down to the Altus tournament. Very good competition and very nice for all the kids to wrestle on full mats!
Anthony Scantlin - 10u 76lbs 2nd. 12u 2nd.
Cody McDonald - 12u 80lbs 3rd. 14u 78lbs 4th.
Evan Elston - 14u 142lbs.
We will be going to Lawton as well.

just curious since I am on the MO side. What weight is Beeson, Dryden and Deshazar at this year? Thought I saw a post that Dryden was at 55 for Altus. Thanks.

Beeson will probably be at 64 for the Kansas Tournaments and 61 for Tulsa, Kickoff, JOC, and Amarillo.

Thanks for the info. Looks like he hit a growth spurt from last year.

He is actually weighing between 60 and 62 in the morning. I figure in 6 months around state he will be weighing about 64 or 65 so we might as well wrestle 64 from the get go and 61 for the big ones.
