I totally agree! They had over 700 kids! TONS of novice which is awesome to see. Plenty of mat space. Very well ran. Morning session ran so fast & so smooth. Afternoon is going longer due to #s! Chad Beeson already said over the PA what they planned to do next year to make sure its even better. I bet those kids that came from OK are saying "THIS is why we go to Kansas to wrestle!"
Great Job ACWC!

We had a great time and good competion. The tournament ran so smooth, specially the first secesion. We were done before 1:00. ACWC did a great job and we will be back next year.

Good competition yes, but I have to say, I was not as impressed....The second session did not end until 745pm. They could have done a better job staying ahead of bout sheets on tables in 2nd gym. Table workers seemed like they did not fully understand how to work brackets, which caused delays at times.

Huh, I guess I didn't notice that. So which mat would that be at that "someone" didn't know what they were doing so we can improve on that?

There were some issues with the second session, most of it dealing with numbers and trying to accomodate novice. The 2nd gym table workers were the exact same as in the morning, and that session ran smooth. If there were problems in the second session it was probably with how I set up the Brackets and not a short coming of the table workers. We think we know what needs to be addressed next year to make the tournament more enjoyable. I will try to get the results posted tomorrow.
We would like to thank the clubs that ran the satellite weigh-in's: DERBY, MAIZE, HAYSVILLE, CIRCLE, and INDEPENDENCE. All feedback on the satellite weigh-in's has been positive.
There were several people that pitched in and helped between session's. We would like to thank you also. Dan Burnett from Independence helped tape mats for the second session. There were several Derby and Maize parents that jumped in and helped with brackets. Devin Dryden from Boo's School and Easton Schroeder from Haysville, both jumped in and helped relieve table workers. It was a good tournament thanks to the whole wrestling community.

if the table workers worked the entire day yes they were probably worn out by the end of the 2nd session. who wouldnt be after what like 10-12 hours if sitting there. every tournament will have someone complain about something but you have to look at this way. was it good for the kids and not for the parents. if you cant handle they way a tournament is ran then just stay home. every year there are complaints about the way a tournament is ran by the parents but does anyone ever hear the kids complaining. i really do like the satellite weigh ins and hope that all the tournaments take a good look at this and I think you just might see an increase of kids from other regions coming to those tournaments.

Great Job ACWC and to Chad Beeson. I was really impressed with the way the tourney was ran. I finished up @ 8:00 but understand with all of the entries in the second session. There were some really good novice kids that look promising for the future of good competition in Kansas. To all first time parents that had kids get their first taste of wrestling and didn't like the taste so well hand in there and give it a couple of more times. To those that don't think Kansas offers any good competition obvesiouly was not there in the morning. I recognized quite a few state placers get beat by kids that did not qualify for state last year. Also i was quite impressed the way the mats were visible from the stands, not haveing the parents lined up all along the mat and blocking the views. "Stay behind the purple line"

In an earlier post, I stated that I would try to have the results posted today. That is not going to happen. I just finished getting everything finished with the tournament. I have sorted the brackets and will start on the results this afternoon. I hope to have them posted by noon tomorrow. Thank you for your patience.

I just want to clarify that 58# 8U third place finisher Martin is from MAIZE not Northwest.

My apologies....I have also been made aware of some spelling errors, and I know of one weight class I did not put the 3rd and 4th place finisher.
