Challenge Match - If every wrestler in Kansas can send $5 or $10 to one of the organizations below – we will be teaching our kids a far more important life lesson. We have over 5,400 kids in USAWKS – kids. That does not include high school and college wrestlers and coaches. The earthquake has taken the businesses, homes, lives in an area of 3 million people or greater. It is estimated that thousands to hundreds of thousands of people have died and many more are injured.

OLATHE, Kan. -- Heart To Heart International is mobilizing its staff and volunteers to provide aid packages to send to Haiti in the wake of Tuesday's devastating earthquake .
The organization has been around since 1992 and has responded to nearly every international disaster. Wednesday morning volunteers were putting together the care packages full of basic medical care.
On the first shipment the group will send enough supplies for 50,000 to 60,000 people. Inside the kits are first aid and hygiene supplies with things like bandages, surgical gloves, syringes, blood pressure cuffs and rubbing alcohol, among other supplies.
Heart To Heart said its plan is to get everything shipped out by Wednesday night or Thursday morning. Organizers said they work all year long collecting supplies so they can help when disasters occur.
"One of the things you want to do is fight germs," Heart To Heart's Pete Brumbaugh said. "You don't want a disease epidemic to take out even more people, so we will be sending those things today or tomorrow."
Heart To Heart said it is looking for donations and volunteers, for more information, click here.

2010 Haiti EarthquakeOn January 12, 2010, a 7.0-magnitude earthquake struck near the Haitian capital Port-au-Prince. Disaster response efforts are underway, and the total effects of the quake are as-yet unknown. Microsoft has activated its Disaster Response Team to monitor the situation in Haiti and support response efforts as appropriate. Through Microsoft’s support, nonprofit partner NetHope has been able to set up an immediate response, with specific focus on establishing temporary telecommunications infrastructure to allow humanitarian agencies to communicate and provide relief to the affected victims.

Monetary Donations:
Microsoft is making an initial commitment of $1.25 million, which includes cash and in-kind contributions. In addition, Microsoft is matching US employee donations (up to $12K). Already, 2,200 employees have contributed over $410K to 120 nonprofits working in Haiti.

We invite you to consider supporting any of the following relief organizations:

American Red Cross
NetHope
Save the Children
World Vision International
Care
MercyCorps
Unicef
You can also text "HAITI" to "90999" and a donation of $10 will be given automatically to the Red Cross to help with relief efforts, charged to your wireless bill.

Technology Innovation:
Microsoft is working with satellite imagery provider, DigitalGlobe, to rapidly publish current imagery of Haiti captured by the company’s WordView II satellite sensor. Some of the imagery provided by DigitalGlobe came from their other sensor, Quickbird. Our hope is that the imagery will help people across the world better understand the location and extent of the catastrophe and that it might perhaps prove useful to those coordinating relief efforts.
