Noticed the new 4A rankings are out. Valley Center beats Emporia #1 5A and Derby #1 6A this past weekend. They also beat Clay Center earlier in the year. How do they not move up?
Must be a pretty strong opinion that 4A is quite a bit stronger than 5A or 6A. Are the rankings based on perceived Dual strength or placing at State or both.

1. Andale has 5 ranked wrestlers with three #1's.

2. Clay Center has 6 ranked wrestlers.

3. Valley Center has 4 ranked wrestlers.

In my opinion, CC also outscores VC on unranked wrestlers scoring points. The rankings are NOT dual team rankings. VC beat CC in a dual and CC was without Singular.

Thanks. Would be interesting if Kansas had a Dual tournamnet championship in addition to the state tournament. Valley seems stronger in duals than tournaments.

The Valley-Clay Center Dual was early. Not as familar with CC and who wasn't there. Valley has made some progress since also. Derby smoked them in December and lost soundly last weekend 45-22

As many of you in the wrestling community may already know, Virginia started the "Virginia Duals" at the Hampton Coliseum for just this purpose in 1981 and today it is huge. It now includes College and High School teams in several divisions. It includes some teams outside the state as well. As you can imagine, it is a very "fan"-atical event!

From looking at these rankings I would watch out for Valley Center come state time. They've got some quality guys missing from the rankings. That Mixed with Nitcher and Blair could put some points up.

Clay Center only beat Abilene this past weekend by 2.5 points and Abilene has 5 wrestlers ranked.

Does 5a and 6a still have 8 man regionals?

I am very close to finishing 4A. Any help on 215?

Current Ranking:

1. Wuthnow - AB
2. Shaffer - WAM
3. Hatfield - PV
4. Delp - CC
5. Hopper - VC
6. Weber - CB

Maxwell from Piper beat Shaffer Saturday. Shaffer has beaten Hatfield. Osladil from Ottawa has beaten Maxwell. Hatfield beat Osladil.

Sheffield, Hatfield, & Delp will all be at Silver Lake Tournament along with Kolmer from Emporia and Bush from Leavenworth. It will be a tough weight. Not to mention it will maybe help with the rankings in 4A and all class.

Is there anyone else that is done for the year due to injury, The talk I have been hearing is that hattabaugh is also done. I hope not cause he is a good wrestler and I do like watching him wrestle.

Doug, Great to hear about Hattabaugh, how is Colton? It looked like he defaulted at Rose Hill.

Excellent, as you hate to see anyone get injured this deep in the season.
