Just a reminder that Wednesday March 3rd, 2010 at 11:59 pm is the deadline for teams to get on Track Wrestling and register there teams for this year's State Championships.

If you have high school wrestlers to get cards for, you will need to use pay pal and Kathy Juby will get you a card number as soon as she can. If you are having problems with this call me or Kathy to help you.

On Thursday all names will be relesed by Track Wrestling. Please verify that age and weight is correct before the seeding meetings on Sunday. Once the seeding meetings start there CAN NOT be any changes unless there is a error made by the Sub-District host club.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

Won't the release of the names prior to the seeding meeting beginning cause a huge number of changes prior to the meeting starting? In D-2 that is why we shut down people being able to look at the entries prior to the seeding starting, when we were still using paper and pen.

Sportsfan,

It will help clean up a bigger problem we have every year with teams that enter kids in wrong weight or age then a kid gets left out.

I have lived in two districts in the past 20 years ( 3 and 1 ) they both allow changes before seedings begin and we always saw names before the seeding started. I think District two will survive.

As I depart my post as a club president after this year just a suggestion from the front lines:

Make online cards happen! This is a hassle having to send in spreadsheets, pay online and waiting for an e-mail confirmation of a card number (or worse by mail). I have taken 2 calls tonite from friends who have clubs asking about the process of getting high school wrestlers cards on short notice. I'm glad I could help them out and answer their questions, but it should be as easy as a link to a website, parent pays online and gets an immediate card to print out...if clubs want to do it the old way, let them, but let the rest of us use technology available to make the whole process easier. This will also ensure that there is no risk to clubs regarding pending card numbers ...if you don't have a card number you don't wrestle!

Just my thoughts as I spend my last week signing up kids for tournaments.

Ned of course each club should be able to see their own entries. Isn't that possible without opening up the entire tournament to each and every parent and coach from another team? I can't imagine the number of people moving wrestlers at the seeding meeting, to avoid one bracket or another, if that is the case. As I said, each club director or coach should be able to see their own kids if that is possible to avoid mistakes but to open up the entire tournament can and will only cause problems. There were and still are good and valid reasons for the way we used to do things without TW.

You also hear alot of people complain about a person walking to state. Isnt better to try to fill brackets and give as many kids as possable the CHANCE to go to state?
You have 8 kids 8U 110 and 3 kids 8U 125...
What wrong if two of those kids moved to the 125 pound class?
It gives more kids the chance to earn their way to state and fills the brackets. The only disadvantage here is to the 110 pounder giving the weight.
I think its the right thing to do!

That is the problem, those parents/coaches will keep changing and changing and changing, making the pre-seeding take hours. Close it to everyone but club directors! This is another one of those decisions that are best left to the district and it's directors. If one district wants to sit through all the changes, more power to them.

Attention Club Directors!!!!!

There has been a lot of confusion on the deadline for entering kids in sub-district. Is the Deadline the 3rd or the 4th.

The Executive Council has decided to extend the Deadline to March 4th at 11;59 PM, THAT IS TODAY.

The names will be release to the public on Friday March 5th at Noon.
