Kansas Wrestling Forums General Discussion Kids Folkstyle Who rocks at 8u 52, 8u 58, 8u 61?

Can anyone tell me who is probably the toughst in these classes 8u 52, 8u 58, 8u 61, in each district? Top two in each.
Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Cody Eastman at 8u 58lbs in district II looks pretty good. Not sure about the other weights.

It depends where he decides to set. Jayston McClure will be tough where ever he set in at. At 52 you will need to check the 6 and under also. There are some younger kids that will be tough.

Zach Gentzler at 8-under 52 is an animal if he is at that weight. He will win state at 49-52-55-58 whatever he wants to wrestle, he would win any of these brackets easily..He could probably win , 61 or 64 if he wanted!!!!

what team does he wrestle for?

Hopefully Noah Teaney doesn't showup in the same bracket as Zach Gentzler.

I checked the salina tourny and it seems like Zach should remember Noah

I know how good Zach Gentzler is, but in 8 & Under 55 there is Channing Williams from Coffeyville Kids that is a little stud too. He wrestled in the Topeka tournament and beat a kid from Nebraska that had not lost a match in two years. To say Zach could go at any weight and win state is a big boast, but I assure you that at 55 it won't be any cake walk.

Noah won't be at state in ks, if he was Gentzler would win over Teaney easily, Noah got lucky at Salina...

Winning 61 or 64, thats a pretty big statement. I know Zac is good but I dont think he could go up that far and win it all. Thats my opinion.

Gentzler could win 8-under 61 easily, 64 he might get one good match, 67 easily, 70 a little trouble, as mentioned 49-52-55-58-61 no problem at all for Zach G man!!!

Did Noah Teaney get lucky again at Liberty Nationals? I would say everyone is lucky he is from Missouri.

The only thing Teaney got lucky about at Liberty was the fact that he didn't have to wrestle Gentzler, otherwise he would of got his butt kicked!

I happened to have seen the match at Salina when Noah beat Zach. Zac is a very good wrestler as well as Noah. You don't get lucky when you beat a wrestler by the score of 8-1. The match wasn't even close. Give both boys credit for what they've accomplished but always remember that there is always somebody that is better the somebody else, no matter how great you think the wrestler is. Noah just happens to be a better wrestler than Zach, at least for now.

Gentzler wrestlers 10u in MO, so they wouldn't wrestler in MO unless Noah wrestlers up a age group. Gentzler wrestled at the Park Hill Tournament and took 3rd and Noah took 1st beating a kid that Gentzler lost to.

Bottom line, Noah and Gentzler are excellent wrestlers in there State but outside of there State, somebody is looking to beat them. Example: Teaney (MO) beating Gentzler (KS)

Thanks for all the comments on this forum regarding Zac-I just want to clear up the talk about what weight Zac will go at State. Zac weighs around 49 to 50 pounds naturally. We have wrestled 52 in OK and a few KS tournaments to wrestle better competition. At the National tournaments we have wreslted 49. As far as Noah goes-he's a great wrestler-we wreslted him last year in a great match at Tulsa Nationals with Zac beating him out of the Tournament. We had not seen him this year-he's been at 58 or 55 pounts. If you look at the results from the Roller tournament in Iowa this year Zac won 8under 49 and Noah won at 8under 55. We were surprised to see him at Salina at 52 pounds. I will never make excuses for Zac-he got beat 8-1 however anyone that watched that match will tell you that he was alot bigger kid than Zac. I'm sure we'll wrestle him again in the future and I guarantee you Zac will be ready. Noah is a great wreslter-that's why we go all over the country-to wrestle kids like him. We feel like those losses make Zac a better wrestler. As far as Zac winning State at all the other weights is a big statement. We are going to keep concentrating on all upcoming tournaments and get ready for State-we will stay at 52 for the remainder of the tournaments and see where his weight is prior to state.

It's nice to see you respond to this post. I have 3 things. 1) Noah does cut weight for big tournaments, but most of the elite wrestlers do. Your son maybe a exception to the rule, I don't know, I can only go by what your saying and I'll give you the benefit of the doubt. And for the record, my son doesn't cut weight for ANY reason. Anybody who knows me will tell you that my son will take his wins or losses at his natural weight. 2) As far as Noah wrestling 58# division, he also does that for the competition just like your son does. I've even seen Noah wrestle 60# and wrestle 10u and 12u for tougher competition. If Noah doesn't cut weight, he should be wrestling at 55#. 3) Please don't bring up last year's matches, they don't have anything to do with this season.

As far as how big Noah looked compared to Zac, that's not even an issue. Because when Noah or Zac wrestles up a weight class, those kids are bigger than both boys and they still manage to win. You can't have it both ways, saying that my son wrestles up for competition and wins but when he loses to a bigger kid use that as an excuse, the kid is bigger.

I was in Salina when Noah wrestled Zac and it was no match. Noah was bigger and better. I have watched Zac over the past years and Zac is a very good wrestler. I was simply amazed at Noah. In reviewing the results, I have noticed both of these wrestlers moving around in weight classes to get competition, but the only true test was head to head and Noah by far was the better wrestler.
