By the way hats off to SJA! This is probably one of the better tournaments in the KCMO area (other then maybe Toshiba) that I have seen based on who will be there school wise. How is the format, is it a straight bracket? Bet that seeding meeting will be fun.

Keep up the good work SJA, it only makes sense that any school that is near a border of another state take advantage of going into other states and seeing different competition.

On the flip side I would like to see more outside of the state teams come to Kansas...maybe throw an invite out to Hawaii or Florida, Louisiana or Michigan and so on. Maybe I am wrong, but I think the tournament that does the best with the aspect of luring in out of state teams would be way out west in Ulysses.

I have coached at this tournament the last three years and I will say it is a tough fun tournament. Some kids will get eaten up but others will do great. The top teams will be Parkhill, Francis Howell Central, Oak Park and Blue Springs, and as I try to keep up on my home state of Kansas wrestling I am happy that St. James will be there. I have heard alot about the Cokely kid and will be excited to see him. That I can think of from the teams I listed from Missouri There are about 20-25 returning state placers from those 4 teams and i think 6 state champs. Should be a fun tournament I know my team looks forward to going there every year.

The format is on the first day there are pools which are drawn so it can be state champ vs state champ first match. on the second day the top 4 or 6 goes in a bracket I believe.
