Kansas Wrestling Forums General Discussion Kids Folkstyle ATTENTION: HOTEL ROOMS AVAILABLE FOR STATE IN TOPEKA

Attention!!! The Salina Kids Wrestling Club has reserved several hotel rooms for Kansas Kids State Championships in Topeka. We are trying to compile a list of anyone that might be interested in assuming them in the event that some of our parents do not end up going (Due to their kids getting beat out at sub-D and Dist.). We have rooms at both the Sleep Inn and Suites on Wanamaker at $99.99 a night + tax (includes Cont. Breakfast & indoor pool) or a the Best Western on Fairlawn for $79.99 a night + tax (includes Cont. Breakfast). These rooms are for two nights each. If interested, your name will be placed on a list and you will be notfied if a room becomes available. Please e-mail me at;

I would strongly suggest you release the rooms that you are not needing now!! This is why we have problems with motel rooms when people try and reserve rooms in Topeka! Please do not double books rooms at two different motels unless you are absolute sure you need them.

From past tournaments, shortly, the CVB and the motel association will start checking their reservation lists to be sure clubs have not booked room at two different motels. These motels do not want people staying out of Topeka if it is not necessary and DO NOT WANT stuck with rooms.

Before you start yelling at me or get upset, know that all the rooms are reserved and have been accounted for by parents with the Salina Kids Wrestling Club. As I'm sure you already know, some kids get beat out at sub-district and district though. We usually end up getting a few cancelations every year, but will normally find another parent or another club member to take the room. We have two hotels , because we need 24 rooms total, and I was only able to get a max of 19 at one of the hotels. I therefore had to reserve an additional five at a seperate hotel. I know the hotels don't want to get stuck with rooms, that is why I posted this information on the forum and am offering them to anyone esle in the event one of our parents end up not going to state. Before your start criticizing what I'm trying to do, please ensure you know the facts. I'm on top of the matter, but I do thank you for your concern.

Sorry, but we find every year clubs will double book rooms and this creates a problem. The Topeka CVB and motel association will start calling us and then we have to call the clubs.

A reminder to all clubs, get your motel rooms rooming list to your motel on Monday, March 21 and release all other rooms not needed for those invidiuals who may be trying to locate motel rooms.
