The NAIA rankings are obviously flawed. In the last month, Baker beat No. 13 Oklahoma City in a dual (18-16), then hammered No. 14 Hastings in a dual (33-13). These two results finally got Baker some respect- a No. 20 ranking. However, this past weekend Baker places 10 wrestlers (6 in the top 4) to finish as a team in 3rd place 20 points better than No. 13 Oklahoma City. This result drops Baker out of the top 20, moves Oklahoma City up one spot, and keeps Hastings inside the top 15. Anyone else see something wrong with these rankings?

Duals are a different animal than a tournament. A team with "solid" guys through the line up will not produce in a tournament the way a team with a hand full of "studs" and a bunch of weak weights will. The "solid" squad will probably win that dual though. It's all about advancement points and bonus points come national tournament time. I have no idea how the other schools stack up but Baker seems to be a team with a line up of pretty solid wrestlers but no "studs". It looks like they should at probably be ranked ahead of OCU but rankings and records don't mean squat now...it's tournament time!
