Excellent tournament today! Ran smoothly. Want to say THANK YOU to all the parents that cheer their kids on whether they win or lose! Its a long tough season and I think parents deserve alot of credit for being there for their kids.

ON THAT NOTE--- To the dad that had an awesome little wrestler on mat one wrestling 8U 55lbs -- YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF YOURSELF! Your boy wrestled his butt off, yes he lost, but you jerking him around by the neck and throwing him down on the floor is just rediculous! Im glad Im not from the same club as you because I wouldnt want to be associated with you! And yes, we heard you tell your wife you were gonna punch her in the face too! I feel sorry for your son and wife. Sad! If you will throw him around in a gym full of people what do you do to that poor little guy at home??????????????? Only wish the security wouldve gotten involved when they were informed of the situation!

Thanks again to all the AWESOME parents that come out week after week and "SUPPORT" their kids.

Not sure what the "whole situation" would be. The kid lost and his dad manhandled him. Not sure any "situation" warrants getting treated like that.

If it was that bad it's amazing something was not done about that with security. I do have to add though that if your on the forum to post critics on parenting it's not hard to figure out who the posters are and who you are in reference to at the tournament. I personally would think twice before analyzing someone else's parenting abilities on a forum, as NO one is perfect and you only know what you observed not the "whole situation". So much for gaining my knowledge and laughs off Dr. Phil; I can turn to the forum, lol!

So if you saw all this then what did you do about it?
You feel so strongly about it but yet you sit back and did nothing. You said nothing??

Either your part of the problem or part of the solution.
And you sat back and watched!!
And now you sit back and criticise!!
Maybe some people could say that YOU should be ashamed of YOURSELF!!

Must of been gone before the drama occurred. Wrestling is a very tough sport both physically and mentally on a child. Psychologically at that age acceptance and approval is very important by key players in a child's life. Hoping that the kid has some good coaches and teammates that show him support.

My 6U wrestler wins some and loses some. It's always rough on him to take a loss, but a month or so ago a high school wrestler asked him after a loss if he wrestled his hardest. My son had said that he did and the HS wrestler told him that if he did his best then you should always take pride in that whether a win or loss. Seen a flip in my son's attitude after that; whether a win or loss he will hug his opponent. The anger and blaming others has disappeared; instead he focuses on areas of improvement and talks about what he could do differently next time.
A big thank you to the high school wrestler for the support and advice to my son.
